I just won 10,000 worth of gift certificates from Belo Medical Group so I tried searching how much their treatments cost. I wasn’t shocked seeing how steep the prices were but a bit disheartened that I couldn’t maximize my winnings because 10,000 is a measly value vs their treatments. But if anyone’s still curious, here are Belo Medical Group Services Price List for the Acne and Underarm Treatments.

Jet Peel makes use of pressurized oxygen to accelerate a liquid agent (saline) to supersonic velocities, creating an exfoliatingeffect on the skin. The Liquid agent is compounded with different vitamins and supplements that will address the problem of the patient. The High-velocity Jet peels the superficial layers of the skin allowing better penetration of the compounded substances. Fraxel Restore Laser Treatment makes use of an Erbium glass laser that is passed several times over the treatment area causing fractional resurfacing with a million points of light. The laser causes microscopic wounding and the presence of normal tissue around the wounds allows for faster healing and minimal to no downtime. There is a sensation of heat similar to that of a sunburn and the treated area will be red and swollen which may last for several hours to 2-3 days. This procedure helps improve the appearance of acne scars.

How long is the treatment?

The treatment lasts about 30 minutes to an hour.

How often should I do the treatment?

The treatment may be done every 1-4 weeks, depending on the assessment of the doctor, for 5-6 sessions.

When will I see results?

Fraxel produces great results. After the first treatment, you will begin to feel the difference in your skin, as it gradually becomes softer, smoother, tighter and fresher. Fractional laser skin treatments give excellent results for skin resurfacing and when correcting skin conditions including scars, superficial lesions, epidermal nevi, actinic cheilitis, warts, skin tags, and keratoses.

How do fractional laser skin treatments work?

Fractional laser skin treatments create areas of treated tissue surrounded by untreated, healthy tissue. Some fractional skin treatments (e.g., Palomar’s Lux1540 and Lux2940) create narrow, deep columns that extend through the epidermis into the dermis through an array of intense laser energy microbeams. These columns can either be “non-ablative” (the laser beams coagulate the affected tissue) or “ablative” (the laser beams vaporize the affected tissue). The body’s natural healing process creates new, healthy tissue to replace the columns of affected tissue – improving the skin condition being treated.

How many fractional laser skin treatments will my patients need?

The number of treatments necessary will depend on the condition being treated.

What should my patients expect after treatment?

Immediately following the treatment, the skin may be mildly red (erythema) and swollen (edema). These effects are normal and indicate a successful treatment. Any swelling typically subsides within a day, and most redness dissipates within a few days. For ablative procedures, light superficial bleeding and “oozing” may occur. As the redness and swelling subside, a brownish “bronzing” effect will become visible. The bronzing will fade over the next few days as new, healthy skin replaces the laser-treated tissue.

Other side effects may include discharge, crusting or scaling, and milia – these too typically resolve within one week.

What precautions should my patients follow after treatment?

For best results and to prevent complications, all patients should strictly follow their post-treatment care protocol. Cool, moist compresses applied immediately post-treatment may soothe the treated skin. Soaking and gentle cleansing may aid exfoliation as new tissue replaces old tissue. For two weeks following treatment, avoiding sun exposure is important.

It uses LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology to target and destroyacne bacteria. This is perfect for those with acne because it destroys acne-causing bacteria, reduces pore size and oil production. It has no peeling, no blistering and no down time. This is not a laser or (IPL) Intensive Pulse Light. Treatment takes an hour. This is done after a cleaning procedure.

How does it work?

A natural chemical produced by P. acnes bacteria (called Coproporphyrin III) attaches itself to the bacteria’s membranes. When the Inara radiates this chemical with blue light at specific wavelengths, it produces and releases oxygen molecules that cause the bacteria to self-destruct. The light also stimulates your body’s own natural processes to heal and rejuvenate your skin.
