From Lipscomb Academy
Since its establishment 131 years ago, Lipscomb Academy has provided a rigorous but joyful learning environment for Nashville students in the intermediate and primary grades. From its very beginnings, Lipscomb Academy benefitted from the college-level professors, equipment and resources available right on its campus. The entire school was founded “to teach the Christian religion as presented in the Bible” and “to prepare Christians for usefulness, in whatever sphere they are called upon to labor.”
Today, that mission means Lipscomb Academy provides all the opportunity of a university, with the feel of a family. Our mission is greater than shaping only the minds of your children; we guide children to discover their gifts and passions to develop as a whole person and to become an adult who can positively influence the Nashville and greater global community.

Lipscomb Academy Reviews
Rating 4.21 out of 5 217 reviews
Rating 5 out of 5
As a senior at Lipscomb Academy, I have enjoyed my time at the school but some things need to change. I enjoy the rigor of classes and the openness from teacher to student but it does not seem as if the school values the arts or quality of the food. I choose not to eat in the cafeteria because the food is almost not edible. I also wish that the same amount of effort that goes into sports at Lipscomb Academy would go into theater, chorus, and band.
As a college prep school, Lipscomb Academy offers opportunities for Dual Enrollment, AP, and Honors classes. The school also has a smaller class size, allowing for a greater connection and possible learning capacity. The overall experience has been positive but if these few things were to change, I believe that the school would be an even better place to grow and thrive.

My original review was too long. I’m a former student. Just know they are not helpful, not centered in Christ, and money hungry. The sports team gets all the funding while arts and sciences fall in the shadow. The reviews are never honest, and neither are the students. Everyone is too scared to actually speak the truth. If your looking for college prep, look elsewhere and save money.

Lipscomb Academy is a great christian school. In my time there, i’ve built character, made lots of lifelong friends, and become better prepared for college. Some things I would change, would be to focus more on the fine arts program instead of all sports and trying to incorporate diversity in other ways aside from just advertisem*nt. Overall, I love this school and the people that go there alongside me and would recommend it to others as well!
