Does UT Austin have summer programs for high school students? ›

Summer Discovery's pre-college program gives teens a head start in understanding college life. From designing their own schedule to immersive travel experiences and adventures both on and off campus, our programs are that perfect blend of serious and fun.

Camp SOAR is a five day summer camp designed to expose rising high school juniors and seniors with an interest in aerospace engineering to the research and facilities at Texas A&M University's Department of Aerospace Engineering.

The summer program, spanning four weeks in June and July, is hosted at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

With a GPA of 3.83, UT Austin requires you to be near the top of your class, and well above average. You'll need mostly A's, ideally with several AP or IB classes to help show your preparation at a college level.

The total fee for a 2024 Harvard Pre-College Program session is $5,550. The program fee includes tuition, room and meal plan, activity costs, and an accident and sickness insurance plan for the full two weeks. There is also a non-refundable $75 application fee.

The Basics

The Recommended Program requires 26 credits. Students must complete four credits in each core area: English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, two credits in the same world language, one credit in PE and Fine Arts, a half credit of speech and five and a half credits in electives.

The summer High School Research Academy (HSRA) provides high school students with an immersive and hands-on five-week interdisciplinary non-residential summer research experience at the University of Texas at Austin campus.
