Mods are constantly evolving as time goes by, thus there is always a demand for more in eternal gratitude to modders that produce great content worthy of recognition.
12 Scrap Everything
There can be a few things that get in the way of a great experience, and chores are certainly one of them. Fallout 4 features a pretty fun piece of content in which players can manage and create their settlements. However, with these settlements ravished by nuclear war, it’s no surprise things are looking rather grotesque.
Thanks to the Scrap Everything mod by shadowslasher410 and VIitS, players can get rid of all the junk that can be found in the post-war settlements. This makes areas nice and clean, with the mod allowing players to reduce the area to nothing but the land it came on, the perfect start for a new homestead created by the player.
11 Start Me Up
Upon the first playthrough, the prologue to Fallout 4 is pretty exciting and sets the tone for the vengeful journey ahead in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. However, experienced players of the game may find themselves not wanting to get through the introduction again.
Thanks to TinyManticore, the Start Me Up mod allows players to choose between custom backgrounds and life paths for their character. This means that they can ignore the entire Shaun quest, and start in a post-apocalyptic world as a survivor, and not a noob.
10 Armorsmith Extended
Power Armor is one of the key components of Fallout. It’s on the box art of basically all of the game, and for good reason. It shows just how powerful the player can be if they get their hands on that sweet and rare armor. Considering Fallout 4 makes Power Armor even more fun, it’s no surprise that this mod by Gambit 77 is a must-have.
With Armorsmith Extended, players will have over sixteen huge changes to the appeal of the game. This also allows them to effectively create their wild armor looks, perfect for a wacky wasteland against the multitude of Power Armors in Fallout 4.
9 Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch
Not every game can be perfect. Almost every game encounters some form of glitch, bug, or otherwise something that needs fixing. However, it cannot always be easy, and the resources are not always there. Fallout 4 may still have some glitches, and the modding community invests its time in helping Fallout 4 to be bug-free.
Thanks to the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch by Arthmoor, this mod has the goal of fixing every single bug present in Fallout 4. It’s a great starting mod, due to numerous bugs that could potentially cause the game to crash. With this mod, those bugs won’t be an issue, and gameplay can run smoothly.
8 Vivid Weathers
Everyone who has played a roleplaying game knows the importance of the immersion that comes with it. There are many layers to immersion, and the weather is just one of them. Vivid Weathers is a lore-friendly mod that is completely weather and climate overhaul for Fallout 4.

Thanks to Mangaclub, Vivid Weathers will add 75 new kinds of weather added to the game, with 110 new cloud textures. These can range from vibrant blue skies to ominous oranges of a post-nuclear war. The visuals of Fallout 4 are impressive, but this mod helps bolster the look of the world even more.
7 DEF_UI
Games as large as Fallout 4 are bound to have the player pick up tons of items. There may be a weight limit to what they can hold, but that won’t stop them from stocking up on weapons, ammunition, medication, clothing, and a bunch of miscellaneous junk. Going through all these items can be annoying and confusing, especially if the player is not sure what is what.
The mod by Valdacil, DEF_UI, acts as a brand-new user interface to Fallout 4. Players will find it far easier to find certain items, as it is categorized better in a list format. These improvements are seen in the Pip-Boy, container, and barter inventory screens.
6 Diamond City Enhanced
Entering a giant city in Fallout 4, many would expect vibrant life. Sadly, Fallout 4’s Diamond City isn’t the peak of civilization in the wasteland. Instead, it is rather dry and cold. What should be a prosperous city, is instead one filled with litter, emptiness, and a lack of lore and detail.
With Diamond City Enhanced, a mod from Countercruel, the Green Jewel of the Commonwealth is provided with much-needed flora and other details like lit alleyways and pathways. The mod makes Diamond City feel more alive and makes it better to explore.
5 Improved Map With Visible Roads
With a map as big as Fallout 4’s, it can be overwhelming to see the sprawling well of activity to be had, and many could get lost in such a big world. When accessing the Pip-Boy, the map may seem odd, considering there is a notable lack of contrast, waterlines, and roads.
With the use of an Improved Map With Visible Roads, players will have an easier time getting through the wasteland thanks to mm137, as the map has a higher level of detail available to them. Players won’t have to worry about any wrong turns or misdirections.
4 Place Everywhere
One of the key features of Fallout 4 is the Settlements. Players are tasked with helping settlers, and homing them in their communities. Players can keep them safe, with defenses and walls, and even housing units that add new and unique vendors to the world.

Building settlements is a key feature of Fallout 4 and can be rather fun, especially now that the limits of the building are removed. Place Everywhere allows players to put items anywhere in the settlement, without the red sections saying otherwise, all thanks to the work of TheLich.
3 Darker Nights
By all means, Fallout 4 can be a scary game. Fighting against Ghouls and Deathclaws can be a terrifying occurrence. Players may feel a little bit braver venturing off into the night. If players want to seek further fear, then the Darker Nights mod from Unforbidable may be of interest.
Night has fallen with this mod, and the Commonwealth basks in darkness once the sun goes down. This helps to make the game creepier, and worrisome for players just looking to find shelter to avoid the terrors of the night.
2 True Storms
The environment in open-world games can sometimes be just as dangerous as the enemies that inhabit it. With True Storms from Fadingsignal, players will encounter harsher weather, that may require them to seek refuge somewhere, or risk battling the elements outside.
This mod features a complete overhaul of the storm systems and provides players with new weather experiences. These range from heavy rains, and dust storms, to deadly radiation rains. All of this features unique weather, sound effects, particle effects, and textures.
1 Beast Master
Although playing through the wasteland is fun, what’s more fun is becoming a beast tamer. With a friend, players can tame the deadliest of creatures that inhabit the wasteland and make them even deadlier allies. With this mod from Steelfeathers, Beast Master will provide an immersive mod that allows players to tame and command creatures.
Tamed creatures are more than just mindless pets, as they can be given unique names, equipped with saddlebags, and accessories, and even scavenge for items. Dogmeat may not be the only loyal companion, as players can journey with a Deathclaw each.
